System of a Down

Ah... finally. I've gotten hold of System of a Down's debut album. After reading all the anti-establishment propaganda along the album's cover, I was immediately reminded of Rage Against the Machine. But I was wrong... these songs actually kick ass (unlike that other opposition band).
While the album kicks ass, I need to give it a 7, because the songs just aren't long enough. I'm left wanting more.
Alice in Chains: Nothing Safe: The Best of the Box

A special Alice in Chains one-off album created to hype up the later-released box set edition. The box review will be coming soon. My advice is if you're not a big fan of AIC, you'll do just fine with this album. You won't have any reason to spend $50 on more of the same.
Because I'm a big AIC fan, this album gets a 9.
Blur

"Song 2" swept the nation as the new headbanger's anthem. Actually, I'm making that up, but it did get pretty popular. It's the only reason I bought the album, and as for why I'm reviewing it, I don't even know why.
I was disappointed when most of the album turned out to be their now-trademarked easy-listening alternative stuff. "Song 2" and "Chinese Bombs" were the only real "rock" songs on there. Grade: 4.
